Deadline Extended for Notice of Inquiry for Telecommunications Assessment of the Arctic Region of Alaska

The deadline to respond to a Notice of Inquiry (NOI) seeking public comment on current telecommunications service in the Artic region of Alaska has been extended to December 3, 2014. The NOI, issued in October by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, contains questions about existing and planned communications services in Arctic Alaska. These questions are being asked in order to establish a baseline picture of existing services and identify gaps. Small Alaska School Gets Connected Thanks to Apple, ConnectED

A small school in rural Alaska is getting connected, thanks to an educational technology grant from Apple Inc. According to an article in Alaska Dispatch News, each student and teacher at the K-12 school in Nanwalek, Alaska, will receive an iPad.
