Seeking Community Champions for New Connected Program

By Jeremy Thacker

Alaska boroughs and towns are getting a brand new tool to begin the process of bringing better broadband to local homes and businesses and improving the digital literacy skills of their residents.

The beta version of the new Connected community engagement portal is now live through the Connect Alaska website. The Connected program will help communities expand broadband access, adoption, and use. It takes communities through an assessment of their technology capacity via the new online portal and then works to find solutions to meet local needs.

Any community in the state is invited to join the Connected certification program and use the many resources and tools offered through the new web portal. All it takes is one community leader to champion the cause and enlist others with the help of Connect Alaska’s many resources. Expect more Connected announcements soon as we begin using the newly soft-launched web tool!
